First and foremost is … I am going to allow full auto 22LR weapons this year. With the popularity of NFA
weapons growing, more and more people are buying M16s and putting 22LR conversions on them. We
have determined that if you choose to run the stage in auto, then you will get double the round count, but
you must run the entire stage in full auto.

Secondly, I am going to have an entire stage for centerfire handguns, this match will probably include your
rifle as well. We decided to allow centerfire pistols here as well, as all the targets in this stage will be IPSC
style sillouttes. So if you want to run your 45 or 357SIG or 40 or 38 Special, then bring them. You will need a
good quality holster and a way to reload for at least 20 rounds of fire. (minimum one reload) We dont follow
any sort of organized rules for a certian kind of shooting here. IPSC, USPSA, IDPA…. We just follow safe
gun handling and shoot the targets in a certian sequence…

The truth behind POI shift……

There are a lot of factors that play into shift of point of impact when we mount a suppressor on our favorite rifle. Some of it is based on knowns, some of it is not.

The knowns are barrel harmonics, weight of the suppressor, type of attachment method, and construction technique.

The unknowns are ….. well….. unknown.

What we know is that the shift SHOULD be low with the suppressor attached. This is due to the weight of the suppressor working with gravity to pull the muzzle of the barrel down a little and the suppressor will also provide some harmonic dampening as well. Sometimes is will be high though. This unusual shift phenomenon has to do with the way the gas is redirected inside the suppressor as well as possibly disturbing the barrel harmonics.

The gas inside the suppressor is moving several times faster than the projectile. The slightest change in the direction of the gas will cause the gas to push the bullet in one direction of another. Muzzle pressure on a 308 winchester is approximately 8000 PSI. This is more than enough to move the bullet off of it’s normal axis of flight. Think about it, if a small 5mph wind can push the bullet off to the point of needing to adjust for it, what do you think of a “wind” that is moving in excess of Mach 9 would do to that bullet?

Suppressors that redirect the gas across the bullet path will usually produce more shift than suppressors that have concentric baffle designs that do not direct the bullet path. Sometimes though, there are designs that do not have a consistent shift, sometimes due to construction techniques, but most of the time, it is because of the weapon and mounting system. Some people forget that the suppressor and the weapon comprise a system that works harmoniously and it should be viewed that way.

Shift of 4 to 6 inches at 100 yards is fairly common in most suppressor designs and should not alarm you, as long as it is repeatable. Your data book will be your friend at this point…..or simply zero your rifle system with the suppressor mounted and don’t shoot it without the suppressor.

Stainless / Titanium construction

The Freedom Suppressor is the result of ongoing research and development here at Liberty Suppressors. This suppressor uses the innovative square bore technology that we developed for our Pandora line of suppressors. The suppressor mounts via a traditional thread mounting scheme for better accuracy and repeatability as well. The Torch QA mount is designed to fit on 11.5″ and longer barrels only

The Torch QA utilizes a quick attach design that is intended for rapid deployment when suppression is needed in specific situations. The mount replaces the original crush washer that fits between the flash hider and barrel shoulder. The Torch QA is designed to work with any standard flash hider on the market today, with the silencer itself telescoping over the hider. With this design, the overall added length to the weapon is only 6 inches.

Please note that this mounting device will only fit barrels .740″ and less in diameter (regular AR15 barrel profiles will fit just fine.). Your barrel may need to have a special profile machined on it to accept this mount if it is too large in diameter. The TQA mount requires 1.27″ of barrel from the rear shoulder of the barrel threads to be unobstructed for clearance. This is the spacing on an 11.5″ upper with a traditional FSB installed complete with bayonet lug. Longer barrel lengths will work fine as well as there is sufficient clearance ahead of the front sight base to clear the mount. Uppers from 10″ to 11″ will not work with this mount.

The Torch of Liberty

All stainless steel construction, general purpose silencer made for longer barreled rifles at least 14.5″ in length. This unit is designed for the hunter and target shooter in mind. It is not rated for severe duty use such as full auto or SBR applications less than 14.5″ in length.

This is our all stainless 223 suppressor, we build these suppressors for the AR15 family of rifles specifically. They are thread mounted to maintain maximum alignment with the bore. They are black, but expect them to discolor with use if you shoot high volume rates of fire due to the heat.

Made entirely from Titanium and Stainless Steel, this suppressor weighs in at a little over 15 ounces with a recoil booster installed in it. This suppressor can be “dipped” ultrasonically, sand blasted, or soaked in harsh solvents without fear of damage to the unit.

Did I mention that is also full auto rated? Well it is!!!

We also decided to make it adaptable to other makers mounting devices as well, like the Multimount adapters as well as TROS boosters too. We also make an adapter ring to mount the Triad three lug mount to the Mystic as well. These features make this the perfect transition suppressor for sealed aluminium suppressor owners. Since all the mounts will work with the Mystic, this saves the end-user considerable money when it comes to buying mounts.

Designed with Dual Arc Baffle technology, the Mystic is incredibly quiet for a centerfire monolithic core suppressor as well. But the real treat is that the Mystic can also withstand several other centerfire rifle and handgun calibers as well. The 300 / 221 Fireball and the 300 BLK are prime examples of this. Not only in subsonic, but also in supersonic speeds. Also, the 38 Special/ 357 Magnum family work as well. Being take-down, this suppressor will be a favorite for using cast lead bullets. We all know that lead buildup in the 9mm suppressor is a reality.

Another point that was taken into consideration is that a lot of shooters that are looking into this type of suppressor are also shooting 22LR carbines and want to be able to use their 9mm suppressor on that platform as well. We tested the Mystic on 22LR and it sounds great in this application as well. Great sound combined with take-down clean-ability make this a winner here as well!!!

We will not warranty baffle strikes resulting from the use of the mystic on an AK platform though as these guns are notorious for having threads that are not concentric. Also note, our test showed us that this can shoots loose OFTEN on the AK we used in our test. A loose silencer is almost guaranteed to generate baffle strikes. Check it often and be careful not to get burned as the unit will be several hundred degrees after just a single magazine of ammunition. Protective equipment to prevent burns is not optional ,but rather, mandatory for this setup.

Special Note – 223
There has been a lot of interest in using this unit on 223 rifles as well as the intended caliber. It can be used on 223 under limited conditions. Low rates of fire with cooling periods and no mirage covers. The use of a mirage cover will hide the obvious indicator of the unit getting hot by producing mirage. This is a great indicator to let the shooter know that the can needs to cool off. Also, in 223 the barrel must be at least 16″ in length.

We have found that most platforms work great, such as the full sized glocks, sig sauers, berrettas, S&W M&P series and Springfield XD series. Other guns MAY also work great but we do not have the facilities to test this suppressor with every possible handgun in the industry. We designed it around the Glock 17 chassis and it works the best with this handgun. Other handguns work well also, but the engineering was based on the glock system. Please understand that we will do everything we can to help you to get your gun to work with the Mystic, but sometimes, a different handgun is the only answer. Introducing the FBA ( Fixed Barrel Adapter) Thread protector. This is a thread protector designed for the fixed barrel adapters that we offer for the Mystic and Infiniti sound suppressors. This unit is designed in such a way as to help reduce flash somewhat, but it is primarily done as a protective device to cover the existing threads on the FBA that is left on the gun. Some builds are done where the FBA is attached to the barrel , underneath a handguard for instance, and then the silencer is screwed onto this adapter. The FBA is brought to the leading edge of the handguard and the threads of the FBA are exposed when the silencer is not installed. This leaves the threads exposed and prone to possible damage from aggressive training, accidental damage from mishandling of the firearm or combative situations. The thread protector gives an aggressive covering of those threads as well as makes the end of the barrel look more “complete” when the silencer is not installed. This device is made from the same 300 series stainless steel as the FBA units themselves so the color is a perfect match.

Borrowing baffle technology from the Mystic program, this suppressor is a natural evolution in the design and manufacture of a firearm silencer. This suppressor utilizes the same tube specifications as well as the same stainless tube retaining ring as the Mystic, but instead of using stainless steel as the material for the core, it utilizes 6Al 4V Titanium instead. This gives the suppressor the strength and lightweight characteristics of titanium, with even better suppression than that of the Mystic.
The titanium core has better thermal heat transfer characteristics than stainless steel and therefore gains 2 to 4 dB in suppression over the Mystic without loosing any of it’s strength. This is truly class leading suppression!!! We have seen meter readings below 120dBs with this suppressor design!* This suppressor will also carry most of the same caliber ratings as the Mystic as well as all of the same mounting solutions. Special Note – Powerful Rounds There has been several questions regarding the 6.8 SPC and the 7.62 x 39 Russian rounds and use with the Infiniti. These rounds are too powerful for use in these suppressors. The bore to bullet aspect ratio, coupled with the chamber pressure of these rounds, drives the pressures too high in the Infiniti for safe operation in our opinion. The unit might stay together, but we don’t feel comfortable with this combination.
