Features
The Leonidas Gen 2 has a number of distinguishing features that set it apart from any other 300 blk integral rifle silencer.
Suppression
The suppression of the Leonidas Gen 2 is virtually unmatched. With sound reduction that is at least as good as its older, longer sibling (the original Leonidas Ti), the end user’s shooting experience and overall stealth is first class. We achieve this by use of an efficient baffle module, and a long expansion chamber that reflexes so far back over the barrel we had to capture the gas block inside the suppressor! This large chamber lowers the pressure entering the monocore and aids in the excellent suppression for which this upper is known. Use with subsonic ammuntion for best results.
Monocore
Borrowing the same baffle tech as the original Leonidas Ti, the 8″ monocore module gives superb supression and rigidity, which helps to ensure that you are both quiet and baffle strike free.
Reduced Length
With an 8.3″ barrel, an 8.2″ monocore baffle module, and a 5.5″ reflex chamber (back over the barrel), we are able to have a suppressor length totalling 13.5″ and still keep the overall length to 16.5″. It’s permanently attached via a pin and weld, so it can legally be attached to a rifle lower without needing an SBR tax stamp. This makes it a true one-stamp gun, one of the main advantages of a 300 Blackout integral. In fact, this setup is shorter than a normal 16″ upper without any silencer on it, since those will usually have a muzzle device which adds more length.
Barrel
We selected Criterion as our barrel manufacturer for this integral because we wanted to use the best componentry available. The specific barrel we have chosen is chrome lined for durability, has a 1:7 twist rate to stabilize even the heavier subsonic loads, and is 5r rifled for the best accuracy. With this barrel, you can be assured of a very long life with excellent accuracy throughout, even with variable bullet weights.
Adjustable gas system
With the Gen 2, we’ve added an adjustable gas block, allowing the end user to adjust the amount of gas to cycle the action. From the factory this will be pre-tuned to standard subsonic ammo, so if the user doesn’t want to adjust the setting it will still run. However, it can be adjusted down to tune the cycling exactly as it is preferred.
Rail length
By using a full 12.5″ rail and keeping the overall silencer/ barrel length to 16.5″, there is not much of the silencer sticking out of the handgaurd. This is advantageous as it allows a more forward grip if the user prefers, and allows white or IR lights to be pushed forward far enough that the suppressor isn’t occluding a large portion of the light. This is something that most suppressed SBR uppers can’t do, as the even a very short rifle silencer will stick past the rail by more than 4″.
User Serviceable
The front lock ring can be removed by the end user, allowing the tube to be removed for cleaning, or to access the adjustable gas system. We have re-engineered the rear cap of the silencer to be more resistant to torque forces while the tube is being removed, and we have made a Leonidas Lock Ring Wrench to make removal of the lock ring easier. All of this makes for a more user friendly, adjustable, serviceable system.
