450 Bushmaster Silencer for Deer Hunting

450 Bushmaster Silencer for hunting

The firs thing that comes to mind when you think of a deer rifle is usually one of the classic rounds like 308 or 30-06 and even the venerable 30-30 come to mind. The truth is that now there is an incredible amount of amazing cartridges to choose from today. It would be easy to get overwhelmed with all the choices out there. The 450 Bushmaster silencer equipped rifle is in our opinion, the way to go today.

The truth is that there are plenty of rounds that will dispatch a deer with ease. But why do we here at Liberty gravitate to certain calibers? We like them for their suppressed appeal. A silencer makes all events involving a firearm more enjoyable especially hunting. A 450 bushmaster silencer is one of those designs that goes without saying to be honest about it.

silencer suppressor carbine AR15 450 Bushmaster Silencer

Choose something like the above photo of an AR chassis rifle with a Goliath big bore suppressor and you are set! The magic really happens when you get out into the field with subsonic ammunition though. Back in the day, the 30-30 was lauded for it’s ability to “shoot through brush” as was the 35 Remington but now we have rounds with bullet weights 3 or 4 times that of the 30-30 and these are the real masters of a brush gun!

The measured suppression levels of the 450 bushmaster are really good. This round is an amazing cartridge and will fit almost all eastern US deer hunters needs perfectly. The usual range for these encounters in less than 200 yards with a lot of them being less than 100 yards. So you can see how a big, slow projectile running at subsonic speeds would be the best solution as long as your rifle has a good suppressor on it. A silencer like the Liberty Suppressors Goliath is one such silencer. It is quite possibly the best 450 Bushmaster Silencer in our opinion too. Even for the size, it is really light due to the use of titanium in the tube and core. We use interchangeable inserts to augment the thread sizes and this adapts to fit many different rifles with a simple mount change.

If you have not considered using a quality silencer in your hunting endeavors, I recommend giving it a try! We love using them and are confident you will too. Just hop over to the webstore where there is a tone of information about oursilencers!

Best Integrally Suppressed 300 Blk Upper or Muzzle can?

Best integrally suppressed 300 BLK upper points to consider

W have been building some the best integrally suppressed 300 blk upper designs for over 10 years at this point. The first time we debuted our original Leonidas integral at the Silencer Shoot in Dallas TX, it was received with much praise and loved by everyone. This is a photo from that day, just look at all those vintage widgets on that thing!

We love taking the Leonidas integral AR15 to the range for people to shoot. Best integrally suppressed 300 BLK upper
We love taking the Leonidas integral AR15 to the range for people to shoot.

We did a bunch of special things in that design that were never really done before with an AR15 upper integral in a centerfire caliber. One of the most curious things was that we designed the silencer in such a way that we captured the gas block inside the suppressor module. This allowed two things to happen at once that we liked. One thing was that it captured the leaking gasses from the gas block inside the suppressor. The other thing it did was allow us to make the internal volume of the silencer much larger. Did I mention that larger is better? There old adage that “there is no replacement for displacement” rings true not only in the car industry. This same adage rings true in the silencer world too.

This broke the boundary of suppression for this cartridge when we did this and made the best integrally suppressed 300 blk upper a distinct possibility for our Leonidas project. Do we know with absolute certainty that it is the best integrally suppressed 300 blk upper? No, because we can not possibly know where all these build reside nor do we have the ability to test them scientifically. But one thing is for cure, we had a winner with the original…

Enter the next evolution…

Leonidas Gen 2 main image - 300 blackout integral rifle silencer - best 300 blackout

This build was well received for many years but we here at Liberty can not leave well enough alone and over time, Noah saw things he felt could use improvement with the Leonidas project and after much discussion the Leonidas Gen 2 was born! With the Leonidas Gen 2 we were able to shorten the over all length by 1.5″ thereby moving the center of gravity back some. We also updated the barrel with a tighter twist rate and length to better match more modern loads and heavy bullets at subsonic speeds. We also changed the supplier of the rail and upper housing to Aero Precision with their monolithic design with M-LOK support. All of this and we still shaving a whopping 9dB off of the sound signature! You have heard of the fictional guns that sound like a pneumatic stapler? This is one of those guns…

Here is another little tidbit that goes into these kinds of builds, we brought a lot of tech from the Gen 1 Leonidas over to the Gen 2 version, but we also made many updates to improve the weapon system overall. One such change is the gas block, we have long since made our own gas blocks for our Leonidas builds here at Liberty Suppressors, but with the Leonidas Gen 2 we sent a step further and add a gas adjust to the gas block so now you can tune the gas system to your specific cartridge for best performance overall.

All of this while still maintaining a single stamp footprint! It seems the best integrally suppressed 300 blk upper just got a whole lot better! Sop if you interested in one of the best integrally suppressed 300 blk upper designs out there, look no further than Liberty…

A 308 Suppressor Understanding

308 Suppressor Information

When the term 308 suppressor comes up, most people never bat an eye at their favorite rifle silencer and just what is going on in that thing when you use it on your favorite rifle. The need for a silencer that can handle 15,000 PSI momentarily and the shock of going from ambient atmosphere to this kind of pressure also requires certain design specs.

sovereign mount 308 suppressor

Silencer Material

The material for a 308 suppressor needs to have certain characteristics. Things like high strength and shock resistance are really obvious, but it also needs to be light weight to be able to be fielded without causing undue fatigue with the end user. A hunter carrying a rifle equipped with a silencer doesn’t want a lot of additional weight hanging on the end of the barrel. The only adage of ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain still applies no matter how cool you look with your suppressor… It also needs to have good thermal properties as well. The metal needs a really high melting point…for obvious reasons, but it also needs good thermal reactance or minimal growth from heating. This allows the suppressor to maintain it’s original form longer and this reduces deviations in the suppressor so point of impact is altered less. This equates to a better grouping suppressor and rifle combination.

308 Suppressor Size

This seems obvious also, but you have to consider that we have been in the business so long that we have seen several trends come and go over the years. Trends like the 10″ long rifle cans (which produced a wonderful deep tone by the way) to the super short “knocking off the edge” stubby rifle cans of a few years ago to the newer mid range and larger diameter designs of today that range in the 7 to 8″ size frame but are 1 5/8″ to 1 3/4″ diameter size instead. All of these designs have their own merits but the team at Liberty has always thought that sound performance should be the first and foremost spec. Due to this philosophy, we have never really embraced the little tiny silencers but have stayed true to our mission and kept them more reasonable in size. This means we made 308 suppressor designs that were longer at times to get better tonal performance or we made specialized baffle designs like our fabled Square Bore Technology in the Freedom series of silencers. I hope these things have shed some light on your 308 suppressor needs and help you to understand what makes a silencer like this good.

Best Multi Caliber Suppressor Attributes

best multi caliber suppressor

Best Multi Caliber Suppressor Idea

When thinking of what makes the best multi caliber suppressor, one has to look at what they need in a silencer like this. The suppressor needs to be versatile, yes, but it also needs some other things to make it more useful in a variety of roles. We have been making multi purpose silencers for a very long time, so we feel we can speak on this subject with confidence.

The first thing that comes to mind is obvious, the best multi caliber suppressor needs to handle a huge amount of caliber variations. This can be genre specific or it can cover a ton of different areas. Things like rimfire firearms and centerfire pistol calibers are just a few.

Rifle/Pistol/Rimfire or what?

Does a multi purpose silencer have to fit every role imaginable? No. It only has to fit the roles it is designed for really well. The Infiniti X fits many roles well and several incredibly well. Just to name a few things that this suppressors has been used on with great success are.

  1. Booster Operated Pistol Silecner
  2. Non-booster Operated Pistol Silencer (Usually Rimfire but some centerfire too)
  3. Direct Thread Hunting Rifle Suppressor
  4. Direct Thread Carbine Suppressor
  5. Direct Thread Precision Rifle Suppressor
  6. Direct Thread Rimfire firearms in general.

I am sure there are more but I cant think of them at the time of this writing. The Infiniti X excels at all of these roles and weighs almost nothing while doing it. The weight is actually why it works so well in pistol and hunting rifle applications, it is not a burden to carry.

There are other silencers that have been classed as the best multi caliber suppressor, but the opinion of Liberty Suppressors is the Mystic X silencer are the absolute best. Some might consider our opinion biased, but it can be right too… We love our multi purpose silencers and we feel you will too. If you want to know more, you can find more info on our website at the links embedded in this blog post or just give us a call. We are here to help you find the right silencer for your needs.

A 350 Legend Suppressor…

Choosing a 350 Legend Suppressor is easy.

OK, now we have to look a little at what makes a good 350 Legend Suppressor. We just happen to have a one so lets take a closer look and see what we have.

The first thing a good 350 Legend Suppressor needs a to be made from durable materials. This is why we don’t use aluminum here, it has two strikes against it right out of the gate. One is low tensile strength and the other is fatigue life. The problem with aluminum for me is that fatigue issue, when it fails, it fails catastrophically when it does. This is cool if you want a dramatic show, but not so much when you want to keep your rifle nice and quiet.

silencer suppressor carbine AR15 goliath 350 legend suppressor

Special metals we do like

Metals like titanium and high grade stainless steels are our preferred metals. These metals have good cost versus features for our needs. You see, there are technically better metals out there, but they are very expensive to buy and work with in general. So it winds up costing so much more to use these special alloys. You see, no one wants to pay the price it would cost to use them. Because of these factors alone, we chose 17-4PH Stainless Steel and 6AL4V Titanium for our needs.

Our Goliath while being primarily designed for the 458 SOCOM and the 338 Lapua Magnum works exceedingly well. It can be used on many big bore cartridges available today and the 350 Legend is no exception. It is constructed mainly of titanium with a few parts made from stainless steel. The core and tube being titanium makes this silencer very light for it’s size. This was one of our primary design requirements aside from sound suppression. We wanted it to not be a burden to deploy into the field when on a hunting trip.

Sound Suppression can not be overstated…

This catagory is where we put almost all of our emphasis when we design a silencer. We feel the whole point of having the suppressor on your firearm is to reduce the sound signature. This first and foremost spec leads us to make some “out of the box” designs to make sure our users are happy. For one we design specific baffle geometry for each model that is specific for the type of rounds being used. We will sacrifice other specs for this, like size is an easy one to think of here… This is why the Goliath silencer is 2″ in diameter, it just makes sense when suppressing a 338 Lapua or 350 Legend.

All that aside a 350 Legend Suppressor like the Goliath will serve most anyone perfectly for many years. This is why we recommend it so much when we do, it just works and works really well. Be sure to consider all the aspects of a silencer when looking for your 350 Legend Suppressor and not fall for clever marketing. I hope this has helped eve na little when looking for your big bore silencer needs. If you have more questions, just reach out to us either by email or phone and we will do our best to answer your questions. Stay safe!

Multi-purpose Silencer or Dedicated Suppressor

When choosing a silencer for your project, it is important to choose one that fits your needs in the scenario that you will be using it in. This is the most common stumbling block for most first time buyers and even veteran silencer owners. Let’s take a quick look at what can be some of the criteria that should be looked at for choosing a silencer for multi purpose use or a dedicated application.

multipurpose silencer suppressor

Multipurpose Suppressor

When most people decide to get a silencer for the first time, they usually gravitate to the multipurpose silencer. This makes a lot of sense too as it gives the most versatility of use that can be had for the purchasers dollar. Sometimes this is a good thing and sometimes this is a problem. The problems come in when you want a very specific application and this application has criteria that the multipurpose suppressor can not fit in. Things like small carbine builds for mounted operations. You would definitely not want a something like the Mystic X in a situation like this. Now, multipurpose designs do have merit though so things like a rimfire rifle as well as a centerfire hunting rifle is a great application where one day you are on the square range shooting steel targets with your Infinti X multipurpose suppressor, then the next day you are in your tree stand hunting whitetail deer with your Savage Model 110 in 308 Winchester. This dual application setup is a perfect example of what a multipurpose suppressor is supposed to be used for. There are many more but this is a good one to start with

suppressor silencer carbine

Dedicated Suppressor Designs

This area is where I normally steer a more seasoned silencer owner as this is where you start to dedicate silencers to specific firearms. The most common applications for dedicated suppressor designs is like the photo above of a 556 NATO short barreled rifle and that it will see heavy use on the firing range. The Constitution 2 silencer seems to be the unit of choice for this application actually.

Another application for a dedicated silencer is on a rimfire pistol, these are very popular setups and for good reason. When people goto the range the first time to shoot a suppressed 22LR firearm, the pistol is usually what it is. If you have never used a high quality rimfire suppressor on a rimfire pistol host you are missing out. This is one of the true joys in life for the firearms enthusiast, to experience the exhilarating pleasure of shooting a quiet rimfire firearm.

My conclusion to all of this…

So here is my conclusion to this topic, at first almost all people should get a multipurpose suppressor to “dip their toes in the water” so to speak but once they have done that, the next one will be a dedicated unit to be “married” to a certain firearm. This is the logical progression in the United States with the way the process is currently structured for silencer ownership. Some people will obviously fall outside this area, but most will fit nicely inside this box and that is ok. Get your silencer and go have some fun with it.

22 LR bliss with a silencer

22LR Silencer choices

When people start looking for a 22LR suppressor, they normally look for one that has as many options as possible for calibers as they want as many choices as they can get for the same dollar spent. This makes perfect sense as the user would be wise to do this…for a multipurpose silencer…

A 22LR silencer should fill that role really well and not really any other. The only real exception to this is other rimfire calibers like 17HMR and 22WMR. But you will want it to be as quiet as possible on 22LR as the main suppressor application. We tend to get hung up on options here in the United States for some reason and that is not always a good thing.

The right choice…

22LR is a caliber that is special in that is can be made to be subsonic without too much work. this is different from almost all other calibers on the market. The 22LR is the right combination of bullet weight and velocity that there are several choices of ammunition that can easily be driven to the subsonic level without much effort. One brand that comes to mind right away is CCI Standard Velocity, even with it’s claimed supersonic velocity on the box, it routinely comes in as subsonic. It works so well in fact that we use it exclusively for our testing ammunition here at the facility!

So if you like to shoot 22LR, just get a suppressor to fit that round and one that works really well for it and don’t worry if it can handle 22-250 or some such. Are you REALLY going to be shooting these other calibers on your rimfire can? Most people will answer “No” if they are honest with themselves here.

When you choose your rimfire silencer, simply be honest with yourself and if you wont be shooting it on anything other than 22LR (and this applies to most people) Then save yourself the headache and just get a really good 22LR silencer. We make two different ones and they both excell at two different things well. The Regulator is just drop dead quiet, that is it’s claim to fame. Ridiculous suppression and a light weight package. The other suppressor is the Vector and this silencer, while not as quiet as the regulator, is designed for ease of maintenance in mind. This way you can choose based on which camp you live in. The ease of maintenance camp or the absolute suppression camp.

The use of high grade stainless steels and titanium in our multi caliber suppressor designs has really brought us to the forefront of the multi caliber suppressor community.

Mystic silencer
Mystic silencer

A little multi caliber suppressor history…

When we made out first true multi purpose silencer, it was the 22 suppressor designs that we started with. we made these designs to be able to handle all the new rimfire cartridges of the period. When new rimfire rounds were added, we chose to work those into the designs as well. Later came the true multi purpose designs though and that is where the story gets interesting. The Mystic is where it all began. We even made a little video back in the day showcasing it a little.

Why multi caliber suppressor evolution

The Mystic paved the way for an entire industry, bringing fresh thinking to the scene. Everywhere one looks these days, they can find a multi-caliber suppressor. Embracing fresh thinking allows many minds to work on this idea, breeding great innovation. It has always been believed that innovation stems from a large group of people collaborating. This perspective aligns with the core belief of seeing the industry thrive through constant innovation is what makes progress possible.

Innovation being the key construct of the Mystic silencer, the next evolution was the Mystic X suppressor. While the Mystic was a wonderful design for a suppressor, the Mystic X excelled way beyond the world that the Mystic lived in. Liberty Suppressors went all out on this design and even continues to revise and improve it to this day as we discover things that will make it better. Then comes the variants where you get to have them in different metals or finishes. This is also driven by innovation as we have improved the coating over the years to a more durable CeraKote finish instead of the moly resin of the old days.

Wrapping up

We take innovation very seriously and will continue to do so as long as we are able. Liberty Suppressors looks forward to seeing what the future brings to the silencer world and hopes to be there when the next big breakthrough occurs.

Unlocking Enhanced Shooting: The Nielsen Device’s Role in Pistol Silencers

Exploring the Physics of Pistol Silencers: The Role of the Nielsen Device

As gun owners, let’s delve into the intricate world of firearm accessories, particularly for pistol silencers. Among the crucial components of these suppressors is the Nielsen Device, a mechanism that plays a vital role in optimizing their performance. Let’s explore the significance of the Liberty Suppressor booster in pistol silencer applications.

Cutaway booster assembly
AKA nielsen device

Cutaway view of a silencer booster showing how the parts fit together.

Understanding Pistol Silencers: A Physics Perspective

Understanding the fundamentals of pistol silencers requires a grasp of the mechanics behind sound suppression and recoil management. The Nielsen Device, also known as a recoil booster assembly, is a key element in achieving these objectives. Its innovative design allows for the effective management of recoil forces generated by the firing process.

The Nielsen Device: Harnessing Physics for Recoil Management

At its core, the Liberty Suppressor booster operates on the principle of Newton’s third law of motion, which states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When a pistol is fired, gases are expelled from the barrel, propelling the bullet forward. Simultaneously, an equal and opposite force is exerted backward, causing recoil.

Here’s where the Nielsen Device comes into play. By harnessing the energy of the recoil, this ingenious mechanism redirects it to facilitate the cycling of the pistol’s action. This not only ensures reliable functioning but also minimizes felt recoil, resulting in a smoother shooting experience.

The Ingenious Design of the Nielsen Device

The Liberty Suppressor booster achieves this feat through a clever arrangement of springs and pistons. As the pistol recoils, the device allows for a brief period of free movement before engaging the piston. This delay in action ensures that the pistol’s slide can cycle fully, extracting the spent cartridge and chambering a new round without interruption.

Selecting Quality Nielsen Devices for Enhanced Performance

When selecting a pistol silencer, it’s essential to consider the presence of a quality Nielsen Device. Liberty Suppressors offers a range of recoil booster assemblies that are specifically designed to enhance the performance of pistol silencers. With features such as durable construction and precise engineering, these devices ensure consistent and reliable operation.

Conclusion: Optimizing Pistol Silencer Performance

In conclusion, the Nielsen Device plays a pivotal role in the functionality of pistol silencers, allowing for effective recoil management and sound suppression. As a second-year physics student, I appreciate the intricate physics behind this essential firearm accessory and recognize its significance in optimizing shooting experiences.

Need a firearm suppressor?

The web is filled with things to capture your attention these days and finding the information you need is getting harder and harder. So how do you navigate this mine field? Goto the source. for suppressor needs, you have come to the right place.

suppressor

A suppressor is a very specific thing that most people need and just dont know it. With 100 million gun owners in the US now (estimated) the need for firearm suppressors has never been greater. We have realized this almost 20 years ago and have been supplying high quality suppressors for the industry and have also been constantly innovating on those designs as we go as well.

The need to innovate has driven us to create many class leading designs over the years in the suppressor world. To name a few, we would look to the Regulator rimfire suppressor that has some of the best suppression in the industry even though it is a monolithic core design.

Another design that leads in the industry is the Leonidas 300 Blackout integral suppressor. This integral was class leading in the original iteration and has been improved significantly with the release of the generation 2 variant. The world of integral suppressor design has always intrigued us here at Liberty Suppressors and we feel every gun should come with a silencer as standard equipment. Integrals are a natural evolution of this concept.

When you decide to add a quality silencer to your host weapons ,we are here to help with that. The process can seem burdensome to some, but in reality it really isnt. There is an extra form or two to fill and and an extra fee to pay one time, so it isnt that bad. We can explain it in detail when you call. If you are a first time owner, we have a couple other blog posts as to what we would recommend, but suffice it to say, the Mystic X usually gets the nod as it gives you the most bang for the buck…or is it the least bang… LOL

If you need to to talk to us about owning a silencer, just give us a call at 706-661-6911 or shoot us an email to support@libertycans.net and we will get you the information you need.

Well, until next time, keep your powder dry!

Which 9mm suppressor and why?

When choosing a 9mm suppressor, there is a few things to consider whether you’re a first time buyer or a seasoned owner. So let’s get into this and see what works for you from what we have seen.

9mm suppressor

The first thing to do is determine if you are looking to dip your toe into silencers or if you have already gotten one or two and are now looking for something specific. If it is a first timer, then we always recommend something like the Mystic X over a dedicated 9mm design more like the Centurion. The reason for this is that most people want to see how a silencer sounds on lots of guns when they get into the game and this allows them do it if the silencer is a multi caliber silencer.

So what people normally do is get a multi caliber silencer first then once they have one of these, they will normally get a more specialized suppressor next. This way they can cover lots of guns to start with then they can get one for their favorite gun and leave that as a set.Now the veteran suppressor owner will normally want something more specialized. This is where custom built integrals normally come into play as well. We see this in our office pretty regularly. A custom 9mm integral bolt rifle or lever gun is usually something chosen after they have a good multi caliber suppressor.

The best multi caliber suppressor in our opinion is the Infiniti X and for many good reasons. This mainly has to do with two things though, the material of choice and the design of the baffles. The baffle structure is such that it will suppress many calibers effectively and really well on a large percentage of them. The material is almost entirely titanium so it is super strong and also super light. This combination makes it arguably the best multi caliber suppressor ever made.

Now, when people move away from a multi cal silencer the idea of integrals really comes to the front just as we mentioned earlier. There is a another camp of owners that we have not mentioned yet. The camp that wants a dedicated suppressor for every gun they have.

These people will normally not care about ATF wait times or the cost of tax stamps, as they literally will buy a silencer every month or two and “always have something in transfer” so they seemingly dont have a long wait time between purchases. They people are the most awesome as they have learned how to game a system that is burdened with a ton of red tape. So which are you? Give us a call and talk to us about your next 9mm suppressor at 706-661-6911 and until next time, keep your powder dry!

Taking the best multi caliber suppressor to the extreme…

When we set out to make the Infiniti X silencer, we wanted to make the ultimate best multi caliber suppressor that could possibly be had. We feel like we succeeded in that mission.

The best multi caliber suppressor should include all the things that any silencer in this class would have like a wide range of caliber options to work with that the single silencer will work very well at suppressing. It should also not be overly large as it needs to be reasonably sized to fit the smaller calibers as well as big enough to handle the larger ones effectively. The Infiniti X comes in a 1 3/8″ diameter, which fits under many AR15 free float hand guards really well, and is only 8.3″ long. This size envelope, in our opinion, is the exact point where rifle use is at a great level and it still isnt so big that it works great on 22lr rifles too.

The next thing we looked at is weight. Our normal multi purpose silencer is made of stainless steel baffles. This led us to look at using titanium to make the baffles of the Infiniti X to save weight without losing any strength in the process. This allowed up to use proven baffle geometry while reducing the weight of the module down to only 7.7 ounces! That is incredible when you realize that there are some dedicated rimfire silencers out there that weight this much! Shoot even our discontinued Kodiak silencer weighted 8.7 ounces and it was a fraction of the size of the Infiniti X!

Now moving to titanium did cause one problem…cost. The core for the Infiniti X is cut from a single piece of solid bar stock grade 5 titanium. This is the strongest grade commercially available. Once we realized we were going to be using more costly materials, we decided to go ahead and use the best available. This way our no compromise ideology would be simple to apply. This did increase the overall price of the suppressor, but not to unrealistic levels considering what is being delivered here…it is actually quite a bargain. By using a solid billet of titanium, we eliminate any stress risers from welding that can occur or warpage from the same process. We also reduce the amount of stress risers in the assembly as well so that it is an inherently stronger design in the end. This design allows us to rate the silencer for even more calibers than could be with other engineering ideas.

So whether your looking for a suppressor for your 270 Winchester hunting rifle, maybe your wanting a good 243 suppressor, 9mm pistol silencer, or even something for your 32 ACP TC Encore, the Infiniti X can help. We are here to help you with any questions you might have as well. Dont hesitate to reach out, and until next time, keep your powder dry!

Is this your first silencer?

If you answered yes, then this is written just for you. If you are already a savvy silencer owner, then you may still find some wisdom in this post so I encourage you to read on as well.

The original Mystic silencer.

When we are looking for the best multi caliber suppressor, we look for several things, but the most obvious is the “multi caliber” part of that statement. A new silencer owner is looking for a silencer that does many things well so they can move the suppressor around from one host weapon to the next. For instance, they might have a nice 22lr pistol and a 5.56mm AR-15 and they want to use the same silencer on both of these firearms to see what they like about the experience of shooting each.

This is where the Mystic X enters the chat…so to speak. We introduced the first viable cross over multi purpose suppressor way back in 2011 with the Mystic. It was the first silencer to be able to fit on a 9mm pistol, a bolt action rifle and a rimfire firearm and be taken apart to be able to clean it…all in one package. We realized the age of the best multi caliber suppressor had arrived and we aimed to provide for that need.

In 2014 we had our largest update in the history of the Mystic project happen with the redesign for use with even more calibers. The Mystic X was born and we launched it with vigor. To say it had some teething pains is an understatement, it had a couple of problems arise early on that we didnt find in our internal testing. We worked through these problems and moved from the 300 series stainless steel for the core to the much stronger 17-4PH stainless steel and also improved the baffle stack somewhat as well. This is part of our mission to have continued improvement in our products.

Now choosing the best multi caliber suppressor can be daunting these days as there is no shortage of people offering what they call the best multi caliber suppressor. But is it? We have a suite of adapters that covers virtually every firearm imaginable and we will make custom adapters for the ones we dont have on the shelf. This lends the Mystic X family of silencers to being easy to adapt to ALL the users firearms, only excluding the ones the silencer isnt rated for.

So if your thinking about your first suppressor, give us a call and we can see what you are looking to do with it and make sure you get the right tool for the job the first time. Until then, keep your powder dry!

Rifle silencer choice for the hunter in 2023

Whether you are choosing a 243 suppressor or a silencer for your 300 PRC, the market has a lot to offer in 2023 for the hunter looking for a high quality rifle silencer.

Rifle silencer availability

Today the rifle silencer is something that is almost a household word unlike just a few years ago when no one really knew about silencers at all. It is shocking how fast the internet can educate the population about a subject. In the days before the internet, there was a very limited market of people who traded in these types of devices as there was not marketing department to spread the word. You had to know somebody to find a dealer who could then find the item you was looking for…if it even existed…

Now there are common silencers that cover all sorts of applications like a 243 suppressor or a 300 blackout suppressor such as our Amendment rifle suppressor. Things have become more mainstream due to the internet.

So what does the hunter in 2023 look for in a hunting rifle suppressor? Well for starters, it has to be light. No one wants to trek the mountains with a heavy silencer on their rifle. So silencers made with special metals like titanium, such as our Sovereign rifle silencer come into play here. Another aspect is size, and this is something that the Mystic X works out well for since it is fairly small. The Mystic X makes for a fairly lightweight and small hunting rifle silencer and produces excellent results too.

Something else to consider is the bundle of accessories that come with the silencer you plan to use. Does it come with a cover to mitigate noise and heat like the Sovereign does? Does it need to just fit on to one rifle and never be used on anything else? Then maybe just get the Amendment suppressor and leave it on the rifle all the time.

What we see most of the time is a person who wants a silencer like the Sovereign, but usually leaves it on one gun and never moves it. Lots of the time we have recommended people get the Infiniti X instead as it is lighter and a cover is available for it. This makes for an amazingly light hunting rifle silencer that can easily be left of the rifle all the time with no issues.

So what are your needs? If you dont have a solution now, just give us a call and we will be happy to go over your specs and help you with your decision. Until then, keep your powder dry1

Best Multi Caliber Suppressor Features

When looking for the best multi caliber suppressor, some features come to mind but a couple are often overlooked. Let’s take a look at these overlooked features of what we think is the best multi caliber suppressor.

First off, the obvious thing that separates these kinds of silencers is the caliber list. We all know a multi purpose suppressor needs to cover many calibers, but some cover even more such as the Mystic X and the Infiniti X silencers. Well now that we know that, what do people overlook? Things like size and weight are big factors and tone over a spectrum of cailbers.

Out with the old mystic
Original Mystic with a 1/2-28 FBA

The topic of weight sometimes comes up for us, but it is surprising how many people dont put a lot of thought into this aspect. The weight of the best multi caliber suppressor should be almost zero and this is where the Infiniti X silencer shines. It weighs less than most pistol silencers and is rated to 300 WIN MAG. This is an insane amount of versatility that should not be overlooked. We also made the Mystic X silencer incredibly light for what it is made of and even with the 17-4PH stainless steel core in it, we still have an incredibly light weight silencer that can also handle 300 WIN MAG.

Diameter is the main thing that people overlook though. For some reason, when people are looking for the best multi caliber suppressor, they get hung up on the largest caliber it will carry and that seems to be it. Most modern multi purpose silencers seem to be wandering towards the 1 3/4″ diameter realm these day for some reason. We can speculate as to why, but we really dont know what the designers over at other places are influenced with to make choices like this. When we launched the original Mystic, we found lots of people wanted to recess the silencer under the hand guard of their carbine. So when the Mystic X was developed, we made sure to improve the diameter specification to make it no more than 1 3/8″ Max out side diameter to get it under the most hand guards as possible. This we feel is a critical aspect of the best multi caliber suppressor ideology and work on improving it daily. his philosophy also translated to the Infiniti X suppressor as well so it also has this feature and these two units seem to be in a very elite community of suppressors able to accomplish this feat.

Front cap of the Infiniti X

The next thing no one talks about is tone. The tone can make or break the deal for a silencer and this is because we humans perceive the tone to relate directly to quieter for some reason. A lower tone is perceived to be quieter and since this is the case a silencer that meters poorly to the instrument can be perceived to be great due to the tone of the suppressor. So we work to improve tone as well as dB measurements and this shows with the Infiniti X in particular. We used titanium for two reasons in the Infiniti X. The first reason was the weight savings versus the strength and the second reason is that it is a special material. Being a special material gives the Infiniti X a niche status in that it is not as readily available on the street, so people tend to want things that they dont see every day and this fills that need. So there you have it, several more things to consider when you are choosing the best multi caliber suppressor for your needs. Until next time, keep your powder dry!

Mystic X – The Original Best Multi Caliber Suppressor

When it comes to the best multi caliber suppressor there is a lot of debate these days. When the dust settles though, there are only a few that are still relevant. Let’s list a few criteria to consider when looking for the best multi caliber suppressor.

Investment

Lots of things go into making a great silencer even better and this is the first one people look at. The cost of ownership will always be a factor for 95% of the people out there and for good reason. People work hard for their money and they want it to go as far as possible. The Mystic X is made from world class materials such as 17-4PH Stainless steel as well as Grade 9 titanium, this is to provide a secondary investment benifit, long service life. What good is saving a few bucks on your silencer if you end up having to either pay for a rebuild every couple of years or even worse, a replacement? We think the best multi caliber suppressor should last for decades not just years. The Mystic X does this.

Physical Dimensions

2022 special edition mystic x- New Multi caliber silencer

The best multi caliber suppressor should also be a convenient size to use as well. The Mystic X fits this criteria as well with the diameter being small enough to fit under many AR15 rails for a pseudo integral look as well as being only 8.3″ long keeping over all length to a minimum too. These dimensions, we feel, bring the best balance to the silencer to be used on everything from 300 WIN MAG to 22LR.

Adaptability

This one is obvious to some, but it is worth mentioning. When choosing the best multi caliber suppressor, would you not want it to be adaptable to virtually every firearm you own? Well, we have an EXTENSIVE catalog of mounts for the Mystic X as well and we will even make custom ones for special applications if needed. If this isnt the exact definition of the best multi caliber suppressor, I dont know what is…

Legacy

Ahhhh…. The hidden ruby among the gravel. Legacy makes a huge difference at this point. Yes, the Mystic X was a new silencer years ago and had to go through it’s own teething pains, but now…now it has matured into a mainstay of the suppressor world. With the fact that it has been around in this form for over 8 years now and the original multi caliber silencer, the Mystic , was launched over a decade back, the support industry is huge surrounding the Mystic X. There are third party companies at this point that are making support items for it such as suppressor tools.com and several companies making their own mounting solutions to fit it. We also support a thriving From 1 subculture with our mounts since they have been around for so long and are readily available from over 1500 dealers across the country. This combined with the fact that we even share the thread spec of the mount with the community for development purposes just proves the Mystic X is the best multi caliber suppressor in our opinion…forever.

So if you are looking for a great multi caliber option for your first or even your tenth silencer, give us a call! Until then, keep your powder dry!

Why would Liberty Suppressors recommend the Dead Air Keymo mount?

First of all, the Dead Air Keymo mount is just plain awesome. Secondly, the silencer industry is strange in that we are a huge family for the most part and have great relationships between manufacturers for the most part. Take for instance, this mount, we use the Dead Air Keymo mount on our Agent 556 silencer and for good reason, it works.

The Agent 556 Silencer Tier 3 kit
Dead Air Keymo mount with our Agent suppressor

It works so well that we decided to work on a deal with them to offer their mounts with our cans instead of developing our own mount. This was two fold beneficial for the consumer in the end. First off, they get the best mount on the market and secondly this basically standardizes our suppressor mounting with theirs which is heading towards industry standardization. This is always a win for the end user. The mounting solutions over the years have had varying degrees of success and when Mike and the team over at Dead Air got done, the Keymo basically solved the problem.

Some of the attributes of a good mount are that it needs to be able to be installed quickly, even in the dark. This means that you should also be able to install it with one hand. No special latches to release or fumble with that can also be defeated with mud or ice. It also needs to release easily when the gun has cooled back to normal as well, this is the problem with most mounts today, they freeze in place requiring extreme measures to remove them. Another note is that these are not quick detach cans, but rather quick attach silencers. This literally means you need to let it cool before trying to remove it.

We stock the Dead Air Keymo mount in our webstore for anyone wanting one for their project as well as offering it bundled with our Agent 556 silencer. So until next time, keep your powder dry and have some fun!

Why we think the Goliath is the best 350 Legend suppressor on the market.

We might be biased about our 350 Legend suppressor… Just so you know. LOL

Goliath with an Armageddon Gear thermal cover installed.

The 350 Legend Cartridge

You see this is a new idea that needs a little backstory so to speak. The 350 Legend is a round that was introduced by Winchester in 2019 for people who live in states that have the “straight wall cartridge” rule for deer hunting ammo. There are quite a few states that do this, so if you dont know if your state is one of those, then we suggest checking with your states dept that governs hunting regulations. These states needed a round that was potent out to 200 yards with good terminal energy and Winchester delivered on that with this round. Coupled with a quality 350 Legend suppressor, this becomes a goto hunting rig.

The Goliath Silencer

Now that we have a cartridge that is designed for hunting deer, we thought there should be a silencer that can be the perfect match to this round. We went through our catalog of offerings and found that the Goliath fits the bill perfectly. Like Indiana requires this round(or something just as odd… the 358 Hoosier) and also is silencer friendly. This makes the state of Indiana the perfect place for the application of the Goliath on 350 Legend chambered hunting rifles.

Another benefit that using the Goliath brings to the table is that it will reduce the muzzle blast way over 30dB and probably on the order of 32 to 35dB at the end of the day. This silencer is designed around the 458 SOCOM cartridge initially, but we quickly reworked the baffle design to handle 338 Lapua as well as 300 Norma. So the baffle stack is plenty strong and well designed for this round.

A third benefit of getting a Goliath would be that it ships with a Armageddon Gear suppressor cover. This aids in many ways, but the main two are that it helps mitigate mirage after the first shot. This action of slowing the heat mirage enables the follow up shots to be more accurate. The second one is that it it all titanium (Except for the thread adapter) so it only weights 20 ounces. This thing is an amazing piece of technology for that weight.

silencer suppressor carbine AR15
Goliath on a 308WIN chambered AR10 platform.

In closing, if you have never used a silencer on your hunting rifle, whether is be 350 Legend suppressor or what ever, then you will be in for a treat. It is really interesting what you will notice that makes noise other than the enormous bang of the gun once the get rid of that bang. You will hear the bullet hitting tree branches and whistling though the air (on subsonic round, we have heard this many times) and the guns action is actually quite loud mechanically. If you are using an autoloader, you will even notice the brass landing on the ground is kinda noisy… The point is, you don’t immediately lose your ability to hear your local environment if you have a good suppressor on your rifle like a Goliath. Anyway, thanks for reading and until next time, keep your powder dry!

5.56 Silencer Options for the AR15

5.56 Silencer Designs

5.56 Silencer options are varied and plentiful. We have all sorts of options available today for good quality 5.56 silencer designs so let’s look at a few together now.

Direct Thread Suppressor Designs

These are by far, the most common suppressor you will find for the 5.56 carbine. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and with varying attachment schemes. One of these would be the Constitution rifle silencer. It is made for severe duty and simple design elements. Another direct thread 5.56 silencer design is the Triumph suppressor.

Of these two suppressors, the Triumph is lighter and quieter as it is designed with our Square Bore Technology and is almost entirely titanium in construction. The Constitution is also a great budget friendly 5.56 silencer design as it is made for the person who doesn’t want to invest quite so much into a dedicated suppressor.

Special Suppressor Designs

Another type of 5.56 silencer is the integrally suppressed AR upper. These are designed with the 5.56 NATO cartridge in mind from the outset so they have better performance than a traditional muzzle mounted suppressor. A notable design is the Zulu integrally suppressed AR upper. It is build with a very specific set of specifications to be the most beneficial for running the 55gr to 62gr 5.56 NATO cartridges with minimal back pressure and maximum performance downrange for a short barreled design. Another aspect is that it eliminated the short barrel rifle classification as it has the suppressor module pinned in place to eliminate this portion of the regulation. This also means it can travel over state lines without the need of the special paperwork that is normally associated with short barrel rifles. This is probably the biggest auxiliary benefit of having a pinned integrally suppressed AR upper, over the performance items stated earlier. So if you have to opportunity to test fire the Zulu integrally suppressed AR upper, I suggest you give it a try.

Well those are a few of the options in the world of 5.56 silencer options and until next time, keep your powder dry!

Which rifle silencer for hunting?

When looking for a silencer for your hunting rifle, there are several good choices out there.

Here are the choices we will be looking at today in this blog post. A rifle silencer for hunting, integrally suppressed hunting rifle designs, and our integrally suppressed bolt action build called the Whitetail.

There are two basic types of hunting rifle silencer design on the market today. The first is the common muzzle silencer. This is anything from a dedicated caliber design like the Sovereign to something more broad in capabilities like a Mystic X suppressor. The second group are the integral and custom built designs. So let’s take a look at each of the suppressors to see which one is best of your application.

Muzzle mount silencers

These suppressors are the most common on the market and are readily available as stock items at most dealers that sell silencers. Silencers like the Sovereign and the Amendment are in this category and work really well. When looking for a rifle silencer for hunting be sure to look for things like weight, mounting scheme and primary caliber. These will factor into how well it will work for you and how adaptable it will be for other calibers and such as that. Take for instance the Sovereign rifle silencer, it comes designated in 7.62mm caliber. This means it is rated outright for 308 WIN and such but can easily be used of sub calibers as well such as 243 WIN and even 223 REM should the owner wish to do that. Now a caliber specific unit will produce better suppression, but it will be adequate with an over sized silencer too. Any hunting is mainly designed to reduce the initial noise level of the shot taken on game to help preserve the hearing of the hunter.

Another class of rifle silencer for hunting is the now common multi caliber suppressor. These are known for their ability to be used on a plethora of host weapons and calibers and have a large suite of adapters to facilitate this transfer. Silencers like the Mystic X and the Infiniti X fit into this category. They are light weight, they provide adequate sound reduction and are VERY versatile in design. When choosing a rifle silencer for hunting, just decide which of these features best fits your needs and desires and you will know what you need.

Custom and Integrally Suppressed Bolt Action Designs

This is where the person who already has a bunch of common muzzle silencers will end up after a while. These suppressors are some of the finest designs on the planet as they as designed specifically for the calibers in question and work really well accordingly.

The first one I will mention is the integrally suppressed hunting rifle. This is usually the kind like our Leonidas Gen 2 AR15 suppressed upper receivers. These are designed from the outset for maximum suppression in mind and will be the most jaw dropping builds that are on the range that day. You can literally hear the bullet impact the target when using these uppers. They are usually built in a caliber that is really common and is also naturally designed for subsonic use or at least have subsonic bullet options.

Leonidas Gen 2 main image - 300 blackout integral rifle silencer - best 300 blackout

The next is a integrally suppressed bolt action like our Whitetail integrally suppressed hunting rifle. This system is built on a host weapon and permanently attached to it for the life of the rifle, requiring a return trip to the maker to change things like the host weapon. With an integrally suppressed hunting rifle, you get the benefits of a nice bolt action rifle, and a purpose built silencer for that caliber. This helps mitigate things like blowback and sound at the shooters ear while maintaining accuracy and energy on target. So if you are looking for a integrally suppressed hunting rifle, then be sure to check out the Whitetail, Leonidas Gen 2 or even the Zulu 556 integral suppressor. All of these options will serve you well in the field and will make you the envy of the range at the same time. Until next time, keep your powder dry!

Integral 300 Blackout Suppressor

When you are looking for the absolute quietest 300 blackout suppressor, look no further than the Leonidas Gen 2.

The Leonidas Gen 2 300 Blackout Suppressor assembly shown as a compliment to a lower assembly.

The Leonidas Gen 2 is in a league of its own and for good reason. The Leonidas Gen 2 300 blackout suppressor is an evolution in design from Liberty Suppressors. You see we have been building super quiet 300 blackout suppressor designs for over 10 years now and with the refinements that come with time, have produced a design that is small and yet super quiet too.

The design is very deliberate also. We made the silencer specifically so that it would only incur the stamp for the silencer module and not be classified as an SBR as well. This saved the end user significant money and hassle in the long term. The fact that it is not a SBR (short barreled rifle) by the standards of the NFA means it can travel over state lines to states that allow silencer possession with out any other paperwork. The SBR designation does require additional forms to be filed each time the silencer goes over a state line. This can be a huge hassle should you live in a border town along a state line…

Another benefit to making it an integral is that there is significant volume in an integral design over a thread on muzzle silencer. The 300 blackout suppressor is best served with lots of volume and what we can “low pressure” baffle engineering. This produces better tone as well as lowers blow back significantly. The design is also done in such a way that it is a tensioned barrel design and can be more accurate this way as barrel tensioning has shown in the past to more accurate.

Here we compared the old versus the new Leonidas designs, notice how the new one is shorter.

Another benefit to an integral 300 blackout suppressor build is that is can also be shorter overall than a standard carbine with a thread on muzzle silencer. This can be as much as 8″ shorter too, with the whole of the build almost being under the hand guard of the AR15 railed fore arm. This system is also free floated which has been proven to be a more accurate design element as well.

These are just a few of the parameters that make the Leonidas Gen 2 300 blackout suppressor worth considering and if you have any more questions about it, just give us a call. Till next time, keep your powder dry!

If you didnt want an integral 300 blackout suppressor then what would you choose? Well, the list here is quite lengthy but we can trim it down to three options.

Option 1 – Multi Purpose Suppressor

Something in this category would be like the Mystic X or if you need light weight, the Infiniti X silencers. These silencers are a perfect match to the job of suppressing the 300 blackout. When a first time buyer is looking to get their first suppressor, whether it be a 300 blackout suppressor or even a 22lr suppressor, the multipurpose suppressor is what we recommend. This is because it gives the end user a lot of options and they are able to use this silencer on a plethora of host weapons to see what they really enjoy the most. This then arms them with the information they need to make an informed decision on their next purchase, because we all know that they will get another one…lol.

Option 2 – Dedicated 300 Blackout Suppressor

When it comes to options for a silencer to hush the 300 blackout cartridge, the first choice is always a muzzle can. The Sovereign silencer is a wonderful choice for a 300 blackout suppressor because of this and the fact that it is a 30 caliber silencer. The dedicated rifle silencer will always perform better than a multi purpose suppressor as it has been tuned for the application of 30 caliber cartridges. So if you are either planning on only shooting rifle cartridges or just 300 blackout then a nice rifle silencer like the Sovereign would be a great choice. This is more specialized than the multi purpose suppressor, but it will perform better all around.

Option 3 – Integral / Custom builds

The third option here today and my personal favorite though is the integral suppressor. Nothing and I mean nothing can compare to this 300 blackout suppressor. When the absolute best suppression performance is needed then you look no further than the Leonidas Gen 2 integral AR15 upper assembly. This is because the whole upper is a tuned system that works specifically with the 300 blackout cartridge. If you have never fired this 300 blackout suppressor, then you are missing out. The tone, accuracy and low back pressure design is the culmination of almost a decade of suppressor design in this specific caliber. Even the first generation of this design was a phenomenal leap forward in silencer design with the integrated gas block inside of the silencer to capture any gas leaking from this part of the high pressure gas circuit. What’s more, the Leonidas Gen 2 now has been redesigned to be shorter, lighter and quieter than the previous version. The extensive use to titanium in the construction of the silencer makes this possible. We also use a very specific upper receiver design that allows for less stacking tolerance and a free floated barrel/suppressor module, thereby increasing accuracy.

So of these three choices, which one appeals to you more? Normally the end user will start with a multi purpose suppressor then move to dedicated caliber specific muzzle mounted silencers and finally they will add in some integrally suppressed systems or even custom builds. So where are you on your silencer journey? Let us know in the comments and what custom or new integral would you like to see next? Until next time, keep your powder.

350 Legend Suppressor anyone?

Let’s take a look at what it takes to suppress the 350 Legend cartridge. This round has become very popular in recent years and for good reason. The 350 Legend is a round that can do almost everything. When choosing a 350 Legend suppressor, first is a need for one that can handle the energy. This means that most 9mm silencers on the market are not really suitable as they can not handle the pressures of a rifle round without causing stress fatigue issues in the silencer. With velocities basically a little over double that of 9mm Luger, this round has a lot more energy to deal with.

Infiniti X Lightweight multi caliber suppressor
The Infiniti X makes a great choice for a compact 350 Legend suppressor.

Take for instance our Infiniti X silencer, this particular model is made from titanium and is more than capable of doing the job as a 350 Legend suppressor as it is made from metals strong enough to handle the gas energy of the cartridge. When we designed the Infiniti X we wanted it to be the lightest and the strongest 9mm bore suppressor available that could also handle rifle cartridges. This is a big thing for us and with this design we have achieved it. A 350 Legend suppressor needs to be light as it is going to be used for hunting and you want the hunting system to be as light as possible to reduce hunter fatigue in the field.

So the next thing to consider is how the silencer is designed in regards to the gas column being delivered by the cartridge. The Mystic X and the Infiniti X are both designs that use the 9mm Luger as the basis for the energy flowing through the silencer. This means they are initially designed to be best performers with pistol caliber energy level rounds. So we took this basis and then started adjusting it till it performed well on these intermediate rifle rounds too. Here is the crux though, the initial design is what is the best round for the silencer, so these take a back seat to the next silencer I will recommend.

silencer suppressor carbine AR15
The Goliath silencer makes the ultimate 350 Legend suppressor.

The real winner in the 350 Legend suppressor game is the Goliath. Although larger and more heavy than the Infiniti X, it works SO much better in suppressing the round. This performance comes from two things mainly. One is volume, the silencer is has more volume to work with. The next thing is the baffle structure is engineered to run with rifle rounds. So you have a silencer with more volume and is designed from the outset for rifle use. This is a combination made in heaven if you ask me. The weight of the Goliath is only 20 ounces and most of that weight is towards the rear of the suppressor so it doesn’t feel muzzle heavy either.

So there you have it, two very capable 350 Legend suppressor options that are designed for use with this cartridge and are available right now. So what are you waiting for? Give us a call today to discuss your needs and we will help you get the can you need headed to your dealer soon!
